| FISIOTERAPIA MARÍTIM Y EL PROYECTO IMA: INVESTIGACIÓN Y DESARROLLO EN FISIOTERAPIA. | |||||||
| Como ya os contamos en artículos anteriores, Lirios Dueñas (col. 1024) y Silvia Mena (col. 3189) (fisioterapeutas en Fisioterapia Marítim, Valencia) participan en el proyecto europeo de 3 años IMA: " Intelligent Motion Analysis – Development of a novel technology that makes quantitative measurement of musculoskeletal problems available, in the interests of physiotherapists, patients and society ". |

| IMA, tiene como objetivo principal el desarrollo de una herramienta económica y precisa para que los fisioterapeutas podamos emplearla en la medición cuantitativa de los trastornos musculo-esqueléticos, principalmente en el hombro, la cadera y la rodilla. Esta herramienta proporcionará a los fisioterapeutas información sobre la activación muscular y el movimiento articular, contribuyendo a un mejor diagnóstico y planificación de la terapia de forma individualizada así como para el seguimiento de su evolución. | |||||||
| Para el diseño de la tecnología IMA, se ha tenido en cuenta la opinión de numerosos fisioterapeutas de diferentes ámbitos de la rehabilitación en varios países europeos mediante grupos de discusión y entrevistas telefónicas. A través de esta información, se ha conseguido ceñir el prototipo a las características y prestaciones necesarias para la práctica clínica diaria de los fisioterapeutas. El pasado Marzo, Lirios y Silvia asistieron a las reuniones celebradas en Bruselas (Bélgica) para revisar junto con el resto de los socios el progreso del proyecto en sus primeros 18 meses. Además mantuvieron una reunión con los revisores del Comité Europeo para revisar el estado del proyecto y contar con su aprobación para la continuación del mismo, ya que nos encontramos en la mitad del proyecto. Además, también nos reunimos con el secretario general en Europa de la World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) con el objetivo de presentar la innovadora herramienta y metolodogía IMA en el congreso de Singapur en Mayo de 2015 | |||||||

| El proyecto está evolucionando satisfactoriamente y en unos meses la clínica Sjukrathjalfun Islands de Islandia y Fisioterapia Marítim serán las primeras en contar con los primeros prototiposde la herramienta IMA para comenzar a medir pacientes con problemas musculo-esqueléticos. En las próximas fases del proyecto, se testará y pondrá a punto el sistema para comenzar a utilizarlo con nuestros pacientes. El próximo mes de septiembre, todos los socios del proyecto IMA nos reuniremos en Amersfoort (Países Bajos). Durante esta reunión se realizarán las primeras pruebas con los prototipos y el entrenamiento de los fisioterapeutas involucrados en el proyecto para su posterior utilización y validación con pacientes. | |||||||

| FISIOTERAPIA MARÍTIM AND IMA PROJECT: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN PHYSIOTHERAPY. | |||||||
| As we told you in previous articles, Lirios Dueñas ( col. 1024) and Silvia Mena ( col. 3189 ) (physiotherapists in Fisioterapia Maritim ) participate in the European project IMA : " Intelligent Motion Analysis – Development of a novel technology That makes quantitative measurement of musculoskeletal problems available , in the interests of physiotherapists , patients and society " The main objective of the IMA project is the development of an economic and accurate tool for physiotherapists for the quantitative measurement of musculoskeletal disorders, mainly for shoulder, hip and knee. This tool will provide information to the physiotherapists about muscle activation and joint movement, helping to better diagnosis, more individualized therapy and also to monitor their evolution. For the design of the IMA technology, the opinion of many therapists from different fields of rehabilitation in several European countries has been taken into account through focus groups and telephone interviews. Through this information, the prototype will meet the features needed for everyday clinical practice of physiotherapists. Last March, Lirios and Silvia attended meetings in Brussels (Belgium) with the other partners of the project to review the IMA’s progress in its first 18 months. They also held a meeting with the reviewers of the European Committee to review the status of the project and have their approval for continuation. In addition, we also met with the General Secretary of the European World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) in order to present the innovative tool and methodology of the IMA project in the Congress that will be held in Singapore in May 2015. We can say that the project is successfully evolving and within months the clinic Sjukrathjalfun Islands of Iceland and Fisioterapia Maritim will be the first to have the first prototypes of the IMA tool and will start measuring patients with musculoskeletal problems. Next September, all members of the IMA project will meet in Amersfoort (Netherlands). During this meeting the first tests with the prototypes and training of physiotherapists involved in the project for further use and validation will be conducted.
